Scott has developed its lightest series produced pedelec road e-bike from the top model used also in World Tour. The Addict e-Ride was officially unveiled in recent days.

This bike is the first sport road pedelec of Scott and they immediately set the bar high. The frame is the lightest model developed for this purpose, not only among pedelecs (e-bikes with a torque sensor system), but also among electrically assisted road bikes, with a weight of only 10,4 kg in Medium size. The carbon structure was reinforced in the required places compared to the original ultralight Addict RC frame.

Like the traditional road top model, all cables run inside the frame.  The three mode operation - ECO, medium strenght, full assistance - is indicated by a circle of a light around the switch button at the top of the upper tube in green, yellow or red colours. The rear brain motor system comes from Mahle, who are developing road system for several well-known brands, so its a mature construction.

As required by the Western European pedelec standard, the electric motor helps it up to 25 km/h with a rated power of 250 Watts and a torque of 40 Nm. Reaching 25 km/h the bike functions as a traditional road bicycle without internal resistance. That means the benefits of assistance can only be used on uphills. The total weight of this e-bike does not exceed the average weight of a traditional road bike so we get a full value sport bike in the person of Addict eRIDE.

The range is also very important, which is given in level, because the motor is probably not running on plane. The Addict eRIDE's 460 Wh battery helps us to overcome an average 2200 m level difference with one charging. The system can be supplemented with 208 Wh battery that can be placed in a keychain. With this we can't get in trouble even on a Stelvio tour.

The premium model's equipment is without any compromise, Dura Ace set, integrated carbon handlebar, Syncros carbon wheels and Dura Ace Di2 set is in the package. There are two more affordable versions by Scott. The Addict eRIDE 10 arrives with electric Ultegra, the Addict eRIDE 20 arrives with mechanical Ultegra/105 set. And there is the special road pedelec for women, the Contessa Addict eRIDE 10.
